2nd report is in!

Ms "sassy pants" continues to do well. She's doing well with new commands, but doesn't like to come in from the play yard......that seems a little familiar! She's also been jumping on other trainers. She's never done that, but she does get pretty excited when playing.

Keep up the good work Ms Sassy Pants!

First report is in!

We received our first report yesterday and PJ is doing well in advanced training! She passed the medical exams and the 1st temperament test and seems to be adjusting to kennel life just fine.

Keep up the good work Peege!

Turn-In Time 2014

The time has come and gone and PJ is now in Advanced Training. We had a great trip to Ohio, saw lots of friends and--bonus! We stayed at Ansel's house for a night!

PJ wanted a suite so she could play with her friends...so what PJ wants, PJ gets (at turn-in time, anyway!)

This is what it was like for hours!

We went out to dinner Thursday night and PJ met Ansel.

Now THIS is a bed!! Shh...don't tell Suzanne!

Goofs!

PJ and Darius watching us enjoy our breakfast Friday morning.

Pastel, PJ, Darius and their great puppy raisers--if I do say so myself--and I do!

Ok, so we're trying really hard to smile here.

PJ and Auntie Linder. Look at PJ's tail--no, she doesn't love her Aunties!

PJ in her matriculation attire--!

PJ and Pastel--watch out world! The sistas are in the house! Or, kennel...

Hellllllllooooooo...has anyone seen my Mom?
Nepal was too young to attend graduation with us, so he warmed up the kennel at North Central for Pastel and PJ.

Dr. No and Auntie Linder. Life is good.

PJ and Pastel are dorm-mates at Canine College. Both looked quite at home and immediately started playing...ROUGH! The good part is that we knew they were having a fantastic time as we left the building.

So the hard part was over and we were sad to leave PJ behind, but...we were very lucky to stay with Mr. Ansel for one glorious night!!

Here, Ansel was showing us how he normally spends his nights!

We had a great trip, saw lots of friends, cried a few tears and had some good laughs. Thanks to all the wonderful people of CCI, friends and fellow puppy raisers and a special thanks to Joe and Denise for welcoming us into their house for a very special night with Ansel.

Rock on PJ!

Out for a walk.

We went on a nice long walk yesterday and also played on the playground equipment!

                                                                                    Office PJ ready for duty!

Ok, I'll try climbing.

Yeah, but when do I get MY turn??

Why is it there's never a human waste disposal station? Sure, there's always one for us K-9's. Maybe a little prejudice going on??

Halloween 2014

Wouldn't you know it, TBG worked all day at the PT dept at McFarland Clinic and left me at home. I guess it's ok though, he did dress up as a Dalmation Toto!

That guy (TBG) is WEIRD! Need I say more??

Oh yeah, it's Fall!

While we were out and about this past weekend, we stopped by Deb's office at ISU and found this ginormous pile of leaves. Let me just say that I had a blast running and jumping into the pile!

I love this time of year!

Piano Man

Got to see my good friend Ken yesterday afternoon. I always love seeing Ken, especially when he's playing the piano! He always manages to pick dog worthy songs for me.

Ken plays most Saturdays at Stam's They have GREAT chocolates there and the best hot chocolate too!

I'll miss you Ken! Glad I got to see you before I head off to canine college.

Go be Amazing!

We went out for lunch today to say goodbye to my good buddies Glenn, Diana and Kelanie. We met them at the Brick City Grill and had some great food...so I was told!

It's always hard to say goodbye. My friends wished me well and hope that I do well at canine college. As they were walking away, Diana looked back at me and said "Go be Amazing" I even needed a tissue.

So long my friends, I'll make sure that TBG keeps you updated on my progress.

Last training class!

Went to my last training class at Cyclone Country Kennel Club. It was the end of my rally class and we got to go through a few different courses. Here's a picture of one of those courses.

Had a lot of fun! I'll miss my friends at CCKC

My last trip to Waterford

Sadly, I made my last trip to Waterford over the weekend. Got to see all my friends and say goodbye. I gave everyone a little "extra" attention and also gave each of my friends a going away gift!

Here's the gift I made for each of my friends...a magnet to remember me by.

So long my friends, I'll miss you all!

More "lasts"

As the time draws near for me to head to Ohio, I am going around town saying my goodbyes to all my friends. Today I stopped in at the bank. While hard to say goodbye, I help deflect the sorrow by being my cuddly, awesome self!

Here's a pic of me watching while everyone took care of the customers!

Thanks for the well wishes and I'll make sure TBG keeps you all updated on my progress.

So long my friends!

My last vet visit in Ames

TBG and I stopped in to say goodbye to Dr. Lisa today. She's taken great care of me since we arrived in Ames! She gave me a last look over and said I was fit to continue on with my training.

Thanks to Dr. Lisa and all of the employees at Ames Pet Hospital, they are all "Top Dogs" in my book!!

                                                                                          I'll miss you all.

"Me" time

Yesterday I got some much needed "me" time. You know, sometimes a pup just wants to be alone and let the humans go out and do "their" thing. That said, I spent yesterday afternoon in one of my most comfortable and quiet places...

Thank goodness I didn't have to go with them, from what they showed me, it was VERY loud and VERY dirty!

They went on a train ride just West of Ames in Boone. It's the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad. TBG planned it so they could ride the restored steam locomotive train! They got to ride on the open valley car instead of being cooped up inside the train. From what I was told, it was beautiful weather, they saw lots of color as the trees move into Fall and the steam locomotive was by far the coolest thing (especially for TBG).

This was at the station before departure.

This was where the engine moved from one end of the train to the other at the halfway point.

TBG said he and Dr.No got really dirty on the trip back to the station. Apparently that steam locomotive is coal fired and it would belch out small coal bits under load. TBG said it was still worth the trip!

So friends, if you ever come to Ames and you want something different to do on a Saturday, a train trip through the Iowa hills & valleys should be on your list!

I had a great time!

There comes a time in every CCI pup's life when we move on from one family to the next.  Where we go from the comfort of a nice house, soft floors and cushy beds to what we pups call "boot camp".  Tile floors, work tables, endless training, small kennels with concrete floors and a cell...errrr, roommate.  It's called "turn in" and mine is approaching fast!

With that in mind, I sat down with TBG and Dr. No and went through all of my puppy pictures, picked out some of the best and added some music to make my "Goodbye Video".

I hope you enjoy the video, we had a lot of fun making it!

Big fundraising event!

Wow! did we have a great time!!

The KC chapter of Canine Companions for Independence had their big fundraising event and it was a HUGE success!

It was held at McCarthy-Morse-Chevrolet in Overland Park, Kansas. There were lots of people along with a lot of auction items!

We were presented a check too!

Let's just say I was TIRED by the end of the night!!

Thanks to all that worked so hard to raise money for us pups! And thanks to all of those that donated!!
